What is the difference between overhead and floor-based launch monitors?
What is the difference between overhead and floor-based launch monitors?
Overhead monitors (like Uneekor and Trackman) mount to the ceiling and track the ball from above - they are great for permanent setups. Floor-based monitors (like Foresights GC3) sit behind the ball and work well in tighter spaces or if you want a portable option.
What launch monitor is best for beginners?
What launch monitor is best for beginners?
The Uneekor EYE MINI LITE is our top pick for beginners - it is easy to setup, doesn't take up much space and delivers accurate data at an approachable price point starting at $2,750.
Do I need a PC?
Do I need a PC?
Most launch monitors require one to run simulation software. Our Tour and Champions packs include a PC. If you're buying individual parts, we can recommend specs.
What is GSPro and do I need it?
What is GSPro and do I need it?
GSPro is the most popular golf simulator software - it runs over 2,400 courses and is used by our entire community. Most of our packages are configured to run GSPro out of the box.
What is the cheapest golf simulator setup that is actually worth buying?
What is the cheapest golf simulator setup that is actually worth buying?
Our Q-School tier starting at 5k is the most affordable setup we would recommend with confidence. It pairs a hitting net with a Uneekor EYE MINI LITE launch monitor and a 4k gaming monitor - you get accurate shot data and real simulation software without committing to a full room build. Anything significantly cheaper than this typically sacrifices launch monitor accuracy, which defeats the purpose.
SIM PACKS
What's the difference between the Sim Packs?
What's the difference between the Sim Packs?
Each tier upgrades the launch monitor, projector, and mat quality. Our comparison table breaks it all down side by side.
Do you offer any bundles or packages?
Do you offer any bundles or packages?
Yes - our Pre-Built sim packs bundle a launch monitor, enclosure, projector, hitting mat, and PC together at each tier (Q-School, Player, Tour, and Champions) . You can also build your own kit piece by piece using our Build a Kit tool.
SIZING
How much space do I need?
How much space do I need?
We recommend at least 10' wide × 15' deep × 9' tall. Most garages and basements work. Not sure? Reach out and we'll help.
Can I put a golf simulator in a garage?
Can I put a golf simulator in a garage?
Absolutely - garages are one of the most common locations we set simulators up in. A standard two-car garage typically has more than enough width and depth. The main thing to check is ceiling height, especially if the garage door track drops down into the space. Most single-car garages work too with the right equipment configuration.
How much depth depth does a projector need for a golf simulator?
How much depth depth does a projector need for a golf simulator?
Most short-throw projectors we carry need between 5 and 8 feet of throw distance to fill a standard impact screen. The exact distance depends on the model and screen size. This is one of the reasons we match projectors to your specific room - the wrong projector in the wrong room means a blurry or undersized image.
Can I install a simulator in a room with a low ceiling?
Can I install a simulator in a room with a low ceiling?
You can work with ceilings as low as 8.5 feet depending on your height and swing. We recommend at least 9 feet for most golfers. Contact us with your room dimensions and we will tell you exactly what fits.
ACCURACY & PERFORMANCE
How accurate are golf simulators?
How accurate are golf simulators?
Modern simulators using quality launch monitors like Uneekor or Trackman are very accurate - typically within 1 to 2 percent of real ball flight data when properly calibrated and set up. The accuracy depends heavily on the launch monitor you choose, your room lighting, and proper setup. Cheaper systems can be significantly less accurate, which is one reason we only carry monitor we trust.
Do golf simulators improve your real game?
Do golf simulators improve your real game?
Yes - consistently and measurably. The instant feedback loop of seeing your ball speed, spin, launch angle, and carry distance after every shot accelerates improvement faster than range practice alone. Many of our customers report lower handicaps within months of getting a simulator, simply because they are practicing more frequently and with better data.
Will my distances be the same on a simulator as outdoors?
Will my distances be the same on a simulator as outdoors?
Generally close but not identical. Outdoor shots are influenced by wind, altitude, temperature and turf conditions - none of which apply indoors. Most simulators model carry distance very accurate. Roll-out after landing is simulated using physics models, which can vary slightly by software. For practice purposes the data is highly useful and comparable.
MAINTENANCE & LONGEVITY
How long does a golf simulator last?
How long does a golf simulator last?
A well-maintained golf simulator can last 10 years or more. Launch monitors and PCs are the components most likely to need upgrading over time as technology improves. Impact screens typically last 1 to 3 years depending on how often you use them — they are designed to take repeated ball impacts and can be replaced when worn. Enclosure frames, projectors, and hitting mats are very durable and rarely need replacing.
Does a golf simulator need maintenance?
Does a golf simulator need maintenance?
Minimal maintenance is required. Wipe down the impact screen occasionally with a soft damp cloth, keep the projector lens dust-free, and make sure your simulation software is updated regularly. Launch monitors are solid-state devices with no moving parts — they rarely have issues. The main thing is keeping the room temperature controlled to protect electronics.
COMMERCIAL & BUSINESS
Can a golf simulator be used commercially in a bar or business?
Can a golf simulator be used commercially in a bar or business?
Yes — commercial setups are a growing use case and we have helped set them up. Commercial setups typically use more durable components and may require a commercial software license depending on the platform. If you are considering a simulator for a business, reach out to us directly and we can advise on the right setup for high-traffic use.
